Heritage Park Walk 2006

This is the fourth Heritage Park Walk since 2003! It is time to test your fitness once again. The heritage Park Walk 2006 will take place from Pilanesberg National Park to Madikwe Game Reserve From 1st to 6th June 2006.

140 kilometres will be covered. Walk the Heritage Park Walk over five days.

2006 WALK SCHEDULE

1st June:
Walkers meet at Bakgatla gate in Pilanesberg at 14h00. Walkers will be transported to the overnight camp at the Moloto Picnic Site.

Day One - 2nd June:
Moloto Picnic Site to Boynton Platinum exploration area near the Heritage Site

Day Two - 3rd June: Boynton Platinum exploration area near the Heritage Site to Lebatlane Private Game Reserve

Day Three - 4th June:
Lebatlane Private Game Reserve to Dwarsberg / Johnny’s Mountain Camp

Day Four - 5th June:
Dwarsberg / Johnny’s Mountain Camp to Molatedi Dam

Day Five - 6th June:
Molatedi Dam to complete the walk at Marico River after passing the Molatedi Community Lodge

Make your booking early. The participation fee is R150.00 per person. Fees are payable at the Pilanesberg Information Centre (Itumeleng or Obakeng) or at Molatedi Tribal Office (Simon).

Confirmation is on a first come first serve basis. This adventure journey is limited to 250 walkers. No day walkers will be allowed. As you know the Heritage walk is tough… if you are not fit, think twice!

Walkers are encouraged to be independent. Please bring your own tent, sleeping bag, clothes, cups, plates, cutlery and other essentials. We provide only food and water.

Support team will transport gear daily from camp to camp. All Registered walkers will receive a branded Heritage Park Walk jacket.
